447 leland avenue, here we come!

... we're moving! woot woot! we've been chatting about it casually for a while - about how we don't feel we get enough for our buck in our current housing on stanford's campus and how it would be grand to have a wee bit more space - so, this past saturday i took it upon myself to dive into the depths of craigslist in search for some new digs... and voila! it landed in our laps in a mere few hours later.

the new apartment is right across the street (literally) from where we live right now, so paul's "commute" to his office won't have to change a bit and we're in a really cute little neighborhood. the building is a 4-unit building with 1 carport included for each unit (yay for "snowball")! and then there's free parking on the neighborhood streets (where "old blue" will reside) AND there's a backyard!

the apartment has hardwood floors in all rooms but the bedroom (sweet) and the kitchen is wider than ours now and the stove top has 4 burners! the living room is huge and the entire apartment has a lot of great character (paul laughs at me when i say that, but it's so true... love it).

we have so many stories from this experience so far and can't wait for many more to come! maybe this will be an incentive for y'all to come visit sometime soon! (our first official out-of-state visitor will be the fabulous almost-dr. mark allen clapp in about 2 weeks... yay!)

the only tough thing about moving is that we'll be a little further away from our good friends michael & taylor zabala (they live right upstairs from us), but we timed the walk from one building to the next and it's definitely a do-able stride. and we'll have more room to entertain their sweet selves now!

here's a few pics to leave you wanting more :-)... oh, did i mention? we move in next weekend!!! so incredibly pumped. (also, if you want/need/are dying to have our new address as of march 10th, just email me at mbclarke@alumni.unc.edu)

photogs.from vacay.

we've had a busy weekend (explanation later) and i don't have much time to post before i need to hit the books, so here are some photos from our vacation weekend! it was our present to each other for christmas and paul planned it all! how fabulous is my hubs?! brief description: we started off snow camping in sequoia national park then spent the night at a b & b in three rivers right outside of the park then drove to carmel for a night and spent the next day touring around monterey... deliciousness!

fabulousness!

quick shout-out of a blog to my fabulous parents that surprised me with the present to end all presents today! i heard UPS a-knocking, tjuta jumped up to protect me from the big bad man, but the guy might as well have been santa claus... what to my wondering eyes did surprise?... a WII FIT!!!

oh my goodness! i'm obsessed! the plan was to write a few papers today, but i think i'm hula-hoop on my new wii board and go see "he's just not that into you" with taylor! wee!

i'm pretty sure today couldn't get any better... and it will rock even more tomorrow when paul and i leave for vacation... yippy skippy!

thanks, mom and dad, for being so freakin' fantastic! I LOVE YOU!

all smiles

sorry it's been so long since my last post... what can i say? school's back in full swing... wee! but tonight, while paul and i were enjoying some delish beef tips and egg noodles (my fav), we noticed that someone did not want to be left out of all the fun. and by "someone," i mean the tjut (obvi).

we've had our old comforter out of storage lately because it's great for cuddling up on the couch and having some quality study time... i folded it up and put it on top of the dishwasher while cleaning up the apartment today (that's right, i have a whole WEEK off of school... yippy!). tjuta found a way to be in on the action and still not miss out on some quality blanket time...

cuteness!

another picture to make you smile that was taken a few weeks ago when we spent a day in the city...

it's hard to see (you can enlarge the photo by clicking on the image), but the copy paper "sign" that is scotch-taped onto the bumper of this car reads: "student driver... be nice!" :-)
